A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. 

I suppose the same is true for journey of 21,000 miles.   I heard a report on the radio this morning about a journalist who is literally walking across the world.  Spanning seven years and covering 21,000 miles, Paul Salopek began his trek in Ethiopia and will end on the southern tip of Chile.  You can read more about his adventure here or follow him on Twitter here.

Just a few words as I reflect back on last week.  What an amazing week it was!  I realized a life long dream of displaying my art in an exhibit, albeit in a small, humble way.  I’ve learned not to despise humble beginnings.  You can’t take a journey without the first few steps, no matter how small those steps might be.  Through the doubts, I’m happy that I didn’t fear the attempt.

The support from my friends and family was awesome, and I’m so grateful for the love I felt in the room on opening night.  To have my kids there to share in the moment meant the world to me.  As I said that night, they drive me to be better.
